Just Beachy

So last week we made our second annual pilgrimage to the beach along with a few of our favorite people and their offspring. One house, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, seven adults, and ten kids--it just doesn't get any better than that.



Rereading what I wrote last year, not much changed. The Chockleys joined us, Chip & RJA took way better pictures than I ever could (Click the names to see them), and our house was much nicer. Otherwise, it was pretty much the same. (Same=Awesome)

So, I give you a list of highlights rather than an actual essay. (But I do have a few funny stories to tell yet...)

Highlights

Satchel



1. Catching his first fish (a mullet)
2. Crab hunting--sand crabs, hermit crabs, blue crabs, rock crabs, and horseshoe crabs
3. Wave jumping and body boarding
4. Seven nights of "sleepovers" with his friends
5. Sleeping with his parents once his friends fell asleep

Jiro



1. Wave jumping and body boarding
2. Collecting shells
3. Unlimited access to popsicles
4. Tom & Jerry cartoons
5. The promise of buying a new toy at Target on the way home

Warren



1. Fishing with Satchel
2. Grilling oysters (and many, many other things)
3. Building bonfires
4. Catching crabs (in the ocean!)
5. Spending time with his lovely wife, children, and friends

Me



1. Not working (not even hardly checking email or sending text messages)
2. Consistently sleeping more than 5 hours a night
3. Body boarding and wave jumping with the boys
4. Lounging on the porch and by the bonfire with everyone
5. Eating lots of yummy food
