Near the end of our hike through the Old Forest this evening, I was freezing and desperately trying to get Jiro to speed up. "Hurry! My fingers are falling asleep!" I pleaded, unsure if he would know what "numb" meant.
"Nuh-uh," he said looking at me like I was crazy. "Your fingers don't even have eyes!"

As I was doing dishes, Satchel walked in, holding two fingers behind his head, "This isn't a bunny rabbit," he said. Then he made little loops with each forefinger and thumb, and held one on the top of each side of his head. "This is a bunny rabbit."
I smiled, not quite sure what he was getting at.
"That other way is just a peace sign on your head," he said.

Before bath, Warren and the monkeys were doing their usual rough-housing and per usual Satchel, my sensitive son, got hurt.
Warren was being less than sympathetic. I told him to go start the bath while I handled Satchel. He refused, so Jiro gave it a try.
"Get your little ponytail out of here!" he screamed at Warren (who had his hair in a ponytail).
Satchel, who is quickly mastering Gigi-speak, started laughing, as did I.
"It isn't ponytail, it's fannytail!" he corrected.
