3/4 of the B Team Visits

Over the weekend, our good friend, Vanessa, and her two children, Miles & Natasha, came for a visit. We haven't seen them in almost a year, which just seems silly! They came to the house for a quick hello on Friday and then we met up with them at the Dixon Saturday morning to enjoy the tulips.

Jiro and Miles LOVE each other and love to wrestle and act crazy together. Usually Satchel plays along for a bit and then plays with Natasha for a bit, but on this visit he seemed to want to be alone or with one of his other friends. Jiro and Miles sometimes ganged up on him and sometimes they just ignored him--he didn't seem to like either option. Natasha desperately wanted Satchel's attention until he gave it to her, then she became shy.

Needless to say, it was probably our most challenging visit, but also our most sibling-like.

Miles spent the night with us on Saturday after a family dinner. He and Jiro pulled out every toy in the house and went through multiple costume changes. Just watching them go was exhausting!

They danced. They made up songs. They ran in and out of the house. They screamed. They yelled. They were a trip. Thankfully I interested them in a movie by 10pm and got them to sleep in sleeping bags on the living room floor!

Natasha and Vanessa came back on Sunday to hang out with everyone. I finally pointed out the giant box that Warren's new lawnmower came in and encouraged the kids to play in it so we could have a little peace and quiet. It worked!

And no Memphis visit would be complete without a trip to the Old Forest! I made the mistake of telling Miles, who is very interested in snakes, that we might see one. Rather than get him excited, it scared the crap out of him. Luckily we didn't see any.

Getting this crew to pose for a picture was not easy!

After our hike, there was no way I could resist taking everyone to my new favorite place, La Michoacana, for popsicles, ice cream, and elote! That Natasha is SO cute. And she LOVES vanilla ice cream.

We did a little hanging out on Monday in the rain, but the afternoon storms resulting in several outages sent me back to work. On Tuesday we went to the new playground at Shelby Farms Park, but I'll tell you about that later.

We'll be driving up north to visit the B Team this summer. I can hardly wait to see their neck of the woods.
