School stuff

A couple of things of note...

Like Jiro, Satchel had a solar system project due, but his teacher specified no styrofoam balls. Warren and I think the teacher just didn't want kids buying the solar system kits they sell at the store, but Satchel insisted that he could not use ANY styrofoam. It presented quite a challenge. He eventually decided to use play-doh. Warren showed him how to make it fancy.

And don't tell, but we did use styrofoam on the inside so the bigger planets didn't weigh a ton. Satchel added some extras like an asteroid field and the Deathstar(!). It turned out very cute. He kept the flaps on the box so he could hide it when he carried it in to school.

He also had to do a one page paper along with his project. Amazingly, it wasn't a big deal and he did it without any trauma.

Jiro was in the holiday program. Apparently Snowden only features a few grades each year so that the prgram doesn't last an eternity. Jiro's part was very minor and he made us all promise not to stare at him. Here he is hightailing it out of the auditorium with his buddy, Ray.

Here he is humoring me by standing still next to a snowman.

The show was cute, and not nearly as elaborate as the shows at Evergreen Montessori. I definitely missed Ms. Melissa's touch, but it was nice getting out after an hour!
