Jiro, Age 10

This little cutie's birthday fell on the first day of TCAP testing. Kind of a bummer, but he took it in stride. Each morning he got up early to take a shower and help me with lunches so we would be on time.

Jiro wanted his birthday dinner to be at the Grand Buffet by his Gigi's house. He loves the personal hibachi service there. The whole family (minus Warren, who was in California all week for work) came and we had a lovely meal.

Present wise, he just wanted a game for the Xbox. I couldn't resist getting him a 5 lb. Gummy Bear after reading the reviews online. I have to say that biting into one is quite satisfying.

Basically once the ears and nose are gone, it becomes overwhelming.

Jiro's party was the following Saturday. He wanted his buddies to go see Spider-Man 2 with him and eat dinner at the Pizza Cafe. As an added bonus, I suggested we go to Sweet Noshings to load up on contraband. At Sweet Noshings you can get candy in bulk, and mix and match at will. Sort of. (There are different prices and they prefer you mix within prices per pound, but that was not happening with this group!)

It was a free for all!

Thankfully the owner was cool about it. I could see dollar signs in his eyes because this is what $35 worth of candy looks like!

We headed over to the movies and settled in. The boys were all quite content with their haul.

I had to laugh at Alex, who I sat next to. He had a Tootsie Pop AND Sugar Daddy in ONE hand while his other hand stayed planted in the popcorn. (That happened after this picture was taken.)

The boys all liked the movie but agreed that there was TOO MUCH KISSING! After the movie went back across the street to the Pizza Cafe.

After dinner, we went back to the house. The boys had a brief Nerf War outside, then commenced playing Xbox. In the morning, I sent them all to the park for some mandatory sunshine, fed them breakfast burritos, and then took them home.

When Warren returned later that evening, we ate the awesome chocolate strawberry cake my friend, Launa, made. And with that, we concluded birthday season!
